GEMMA WINTER was purchased from the recent RCS March Premier sale. This makes her an RCS graduate and opens up the RCS Slipper (R3mil) and RCS Big Cap (R5mil) as options going forward. This filly was purchased due to her look of precocity and speed. A perfect candidate for the RCS Slipper next year. The dam of this horse was a winning sprinter and being by speed sire What A Winter, she is bred to sprint. As a physical, she is a fantastic first foal with good size and stands over good ground. What really caught our eye was her movement. She possesses good athleticism which is illustrated in her big walk. She will be sent to KZN to be trained by Adam Azzie who is very good with his juveniles and places her at home base to attack the RCS Slipper. Maine Chance Farms have kept a large share in the filly to retain her for stud and she will be raced with Maine Chance & Vermaak Equine as partners.
